Museo Histórico Cartagena Cartagena de Indias is a city full of history and culture, in which we can easily transport ourselves in time to the colonial ages, or in which we can delight with the countless artistic expressions that have developed over the years, enriching the patrimonial landscape of “La Heroica” and turning it into an ideal place to learn about our origins and the cultural evolution that makes it a true treasure of the Caribbean and the world. Do not miss the secrets of this Colombian icon.

1. Museo Naval” (Navy Museum): You can enjoy different exhibitions that didactically approach the history of Cartagena from its early inhabitants (Caribes) to the beginnings of navigation and of the Colombian Navy.

*Schedule: Monday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

*Admission fee: Adults $16,000 COP. Children (under 13 years) $2,000 COP. National students $5,000 COP (carrying a valid student I.D.)

2. “Museo del oro” (Gold Museum): Ideal for people of all ages. In this place you can marvel with the beautiful pieces of gold and other materials made by some of the oldest indigenous communities in Colombia, such as “Tayrona”, “Sinú”, “Muisca”, “Calima”, “Quimbaya”, “Tolima”, and “Nariño”.

*Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

3. “Museo Histórico de Cartagena” (Historical Museum): One of the mandatory stops in your visit to the city. Located in the Palace of the Inquisition, it is the place that best reflects the memory of Cartagena and it is a symbol of this Colombian region. In there, among other things, you can see elements related to the Inquisition times, among which are the inquisitor barracks, military elements and the torture chambers.

*Schedule: Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Sunday and holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

*Admission fee: Adults $20,000 COP. Children $17,000 COP. Seniors $17,000 COP. Children under 5 years old do not pay the admission fee.
