An Island to enjoy before leaving Cartagena

My adventure begins at 9:20 a.m. at Muelle de La Bodeguida, the pier where we will be departing. As we were getting on the boat the pilot started singing "Let's go to the beach to have a good time with the friends and if you want to come, you should come too," the pilot of the boat was really excited. Everyone immediately catches his energy and we follow the song, "beach I already have my shorts and my towel, and those who do not want to come, do not come" we all laugh and we are ready to go.

Little by little the Historical Downtown, Manga, Bocagrande, the sailboats, the cranes and containers of the Port of Cartagena, and the Bay are being left behind. "I get excited everytime I go to Isla Mucura, it is amazing there" says our pilot with a very naive smile. A fresh and strong breeze begins to take over the environment, the color of the sea becomes translucent between greens and blues, you can see a fantastic coral formation, the waves are getting stronger makes us jump, the noise of the sea is the only sound that we can listen in the middle of the road.

It's been two hours, we reach the beautiful Isla Múcura, it's a place with an overdose of natural beauty, a paradise for tourists to enjoy. They tell us that we have arrived "get down and enjoy this wonderful place" says the man who was driving the boat. In an inhospitable environment, this island paradise remains, a haven of peace for those who yearn to spend a few days of rest in union with nature, away from the noise of the city , of music and a lot of movement.

"Welcome to the end of the eagerness". With that message on a sign located at the entrance they welcome us, and with that I feel relaxed. The beach is quiet and calm. There are not many people, some sunbathe and cool off with a cocktail, others read a book, some enjoy the warm water and little waves and others take a kayak ride. The time for lunch arrives and we meet at the Alcatraz restaurant: a buffet full of fresh and delicious seafood: fish such as snapper, sierra or grouper; prawns, octopus and snails. If you are an adventurous traveler, you will prefer to pass by the post of Los Fritos de Olivia, a native famous for preparing the "arepa e' huevo" in the region.

In the evening, after dinner, we decide to go to the beach bar, lie down on the beach chairs watching the endless sea, under a starry night and enjoy a delicious cocktail. The day is not enough to enjoy all the natural attractions that this place has for its visitors, that's why in this paradise it is best to spend the night and see the beautiful sunrises that appear at 5 a.m. accompanied by the sound of birds and an area of palm trees enviable. The return is the saddest, at 3 p.m. when they indicate that we have to board the boat back to Cartagena our heart wrinkles to leave this beautiful paradise.
