The coffee region is one of Antioquia’s most beautiful landscapes with its lush hillsides. The region produces almost all of Antioquia’s coffee, which is around 15% of Colombia’s total coffee production. During this trip, you’ll learn about coffee production; you’ll never look at your morning cup of joe the same way again! You will also see and cycle Cerro Tusa, a famous, pyramid-shaped mountain where native Indians made offers to their Gods, and where the famous coffee-producer, Juan Valdez, got his symbol.
These days will take us down to 600 meters above sea level, where we will experience a different climate and see a new variety of flora and fauna.
We will then climb again to heritage towns, full of lively main squares and ancestral customs. We will be sure to share a cup of coffee or taste the local regional liquor with the locals who will always make you feel welcome.
What you'll find
- After cycling through the coffee plantations, you will visit a coffee farm to learn about the process of coffee production.
- You won’t want to miss trying aguardiente Antioqueño, a local liquor, that we’ll share on the town’s main square with the farmers of the region
