Caribbean Naval Museum

It is a historic building of almost 3,500 square meters, located in the walled enclosure of Cartagena de Indias, between the San Francisco Javier Bastion and the San Pedro Claver Temple. Its size is divided into two large places or wings, colonial and republican.

The eastern wing, housed the first Colombian Marine Infantry Battalion. The western wing became the headquarters of the first Colegio de la Compañía de Jesús in America, and then became the headquarters of the San Carlos Major Hospital in the service of the Spanish Navy. After independence, this wing of the construction turned to be Hospital of Charity San Juan de Dios.   In the Naval Museum of the Caribbean you will find staged the history of Cartagena de Indias, its navigation and the Colombian navy.
