Township of Bocachica

This township despite being little visited houses people who print and provide cultural, ancestral and traditional features to the city of Cartagena. Located in Tierrabomba (5 minutes from the main port of the city) which is to your front door Cartagena and where history played drums. Protected by san Fernando Castle which was during the colonial period a strategic point for the military defense of the city.

The habitants of Bocachica descended from the slaves who worked in the Spanish colonial enterprises and make an Afro-Caribbean population with an important cultural heritage.
