Fort San José of bocachica
The battery of San Jose is located in a neighboring islet Baru Island, opposite the fort of San Fernando. Protects access to the bay of Cartagena.
It is, like any battery, a fortification designed to contain a number of artillery pieces gathered already covered. Generally complemented the strong or large size enclosures flanking approximations fronts plaza.
A fortification is accessed by boat from either Cartagena docks.
