12 Years a Slave is a movie based on a true story, which tells how Solomon Northup, an educated person who worked as a carpenter and skilled violinist, living with his family in New York, becomes a slave.
Salomon, after having spent a night drinking with two men who took him on a lucrative tour with a circus, wakes up chained, realizing he has been drugged and will be sold as a slave.
