French film festival

16 world co-productions will be screened for the first time in the main cities of Colombia, including Cartagena de Indias, Bogotá, Armenia, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Manizales, Medellín, Pereira and Fusagasugá during this film festival.

The French Film Festival will screen unpublished productions in Colombia, by directors of the stature of Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Léos Carax, Arnaud Desplechin, among others, who have participated in the last year in outstanding events on the international circuit such as the Cannes Film Festival, the Goya Awards and the César Awards.

All the programming of the French Film Festival will be possible thanks to the support of the distributors of these films in Colombia such as Cineplex and Cine Colombia.

The French Film Festival includes unpublished feature films with recent productions not released in Colombia, including Annette, the opening film of the last edition of the Cannes Festival that marks the return of Léos Carax, iconoclastic author and undisputed heir to the Nouvelle Vague; Les Parfums, candidate for Best European Film at the Goya 2021 Awards, MEMORIA, winner of the Jury Prize in Cannes, whose director, Apichatpong Weerasethakul is one of the festival guests; and To the Limit Slalom, which participated in the Official Selection of Cannes in its 73rd edition, and which will also be the inaugural film of the 20th edition of the festival, which will be attended as a special guest by the director Charlène Favier. In the same way, there will be Roubaix, une lumière, Arnaud Desplechin's police thriller that was an official selection at Cannes 2019, and obtained 7 nominations at the Cesar Awards; and Gagarine, selection of Cannes 2020, directors Fanny Liatard and Jérémy Trouilh will also be present.
