Every January, over 20,000 music enthusiasts descend upon the picturesque coastal city of Cartagena, Colombia, for the annual Cartagena International Music Festival 2015(CIMF). Over the course of eight days, renowned musicians from across the globe fill the city’s plazas, churches and theaters with classical music.
THE PROGRAM
The 2015 edition offers a musical journey that can capture important aspects of the "eternal" encounter between Europe and "the other cultures of the Mediterranean."

INTERPRETERS
As a tradition of the Festival, internationally renowned soloists and groups participate with a unique and innovative interpretations and repertoire. An example is the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, founded by Claudio Abbado and whose director is Teodor Currentzis, a young talent who has been called to play the role of resident orchestra. Others are the Casals Quartet, Balanescu Quartet, mandolinist Avi Avital, guitarist Vicente Amigo and Kudsi Ergüner Quintet.
Also prestigious South American artists like the Cuban composer Leo Brouwer, the Brazilian Toninho Ferragutti and the Argentine Dino Saluzziand, that will perform their work and conduct the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogota to Bogotá Philharmonic conducted by Maestro Carlos Villa.
