"With the premise of reuniting around the best of world, Ibero-American and national cinematography; of reliving films collectively to generate spaces for reflection that allow us to continue weaving the networks and ties that cinema and society need to feed and grow; with the hope of leaving isolation behind, of moving from the monitors at home to the screens in the theaters and in the squares, the Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival, FICCI, prepares its 61st edition for March 2022," reads a statement posted on the Festival's website.
In addition to the samples of Afro, indigenous, and Caribbean cinema, as well as that of social geographies of the cinematographic periphery, the 61st edition of the FICCI presents the Animotion section, with which it seeks to highlight the animated cinema proposals of the world. Erótika is also presented as a topic of reflection on the FICCI Hall's agenda to enrich the public conversation about sexuality, identity and gender.
