Tourists, mobilize in Transcaribe

Both tourists and locals are moving more comfortable thanks to the implementation of the Integrated Mass Transit System, Transcaribe. This means of transportation allows you to know more zones of the city with its 17 stations enabled for boarding and transfer – specially adjusted to please travelers – from the Patio Portal of Villa Rosita, in the South- east, to La Bodeguita station, in front of La Marina Park, in the tourist district of Cartagena.

Tourist stations

• La Bodeguita: Next to the old walls, the tourist dock, Corpoturismo, Avenida Venezuela, the beaches, and the hotel district of Bocagrande.
• Estación Centro: In the heart of Cartagena’s Historical Center. Avenida Venezuela.
• Estación Chambacú: Next to the Castillo de San Felipe and the renovated Espíritu del Manglar Park.

Get your Transcaribe card

In order to acquire the card, the tourist either must go to the ticket office, or to the authorized places to obtain it. Remember no to buy this card on the streets, so you can avoid being a victim of counterfeiting or cost overruns.

Cost of the card

The card costs $4.000 COP and one trip ticket has a value of $2.300 COP. The card can be recharged as many times as they wish and can be used by the person carrying it without losing its validity.

Schedule

Transcaribe operates from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and weekends until 9:00 p.m.

Transcaribe’s Bicycles

In addition to the articulated buses, now a hundred bicycles are available for free. After you make the official procedures to rent them, all users of Transcaribe who want to visit the Historical Center and Getsemaní, can do it by riding a bike after getting off the bus.

CITY SIGHTSEEING

A tour in a two-floors bus that counts with a multilanguage system in 5 languages that narrates the most relevant about the history of Cartagena. $45,000 COP adults, $35,000 COP children. The ticket is valid for two days and it covers a route of an hour and a half. Each person can go up and down as many times as they wish for two days using the service schedule. Trolley With a capacity of 25 people. Every day on board of a vehicle adapted as a train wagon, on which you can travel to different places of the city of Cartagena. It offers several services ranging from $18,000 COP, to $160,000 COP. Contact: (5) 643 7786.

Chiva $35,000 COP per person*. La Chiva – wooden bus – runs through touristic Cartagena, stopping at monuments and sites of historical interest. The price includes: open bar, live music and typical food. Duration: 3 hours. * The price varies depending on the tourist agency.

Horse drawn carriages Get on board by La Marina Park. Tours can be done by day or night, inside and outside the old city. The price of the route depends on the tour you choose, and it varies from $40,000 COP to $60,000 COP.

Bicycles Riding a bike is an excellent plan. There are rents of this means of transport per hour, with varied rates that go from $5,000 COP to $10,000 COP. Do not forget to bring your ID, you must leave it with the staff while using the bike.
