“Rumba” in Cartagena: This is the new schedule for bars and clubs
Cartagena is already on New Year’s mode, and it wants to have the house in order so that all tourists and residents can enjoy these special dates with joy, but also with great calm and respect for others.
Due to the arrival of December, Cartagena’s City Hall decreed new schedules so that the bars and clubs of the city can operate without setbacks and without exposing themselves to closures for not complying with the ruled measures. So, if you are thinking of going partying during these days, keep in mind the schedules of each site.
After a security council held on the past November the 20th, local authorities agreed that the closure time for night establishments is at 3:00 a.m. during this holiday season and the end of the year. With this announcement, the previously existing schedule is modified, extending the closure of the businesses located in the Historical Center in an hour to unify it with the authorized hours in the rest of the city.
The authorities will also work hand in hand with the bars owners to control the bustle that is generated outside their business, since, although these are soundproofed and meet all the required safety standards, outside singers and street vendors, as well as some noisy tourists, do not comply with these measures and generate discomfort in the neighbors of this zone.
Exceptions will be made on December the 7th, the 24th, and the 31st, as these dates are considered special, so business can have their doors open until 4:00 a.m.
In the same way, the schedule that applies for Sundays and Mondays to shops, bars, discotheques, and restaurants located in certain places of Cartagena, is still on. These places must close at 11:00 p.m. Some Sundays, if there is a holiday on Monday, closing will be at 12:00 a.m.
It is worth emphasizing that the owners of these establishments are supporting the struggle of the authorities against the sexual exploitation of children that is taking place in Cartagena and which is a matter that concern us all.
