Bastion of the Merced

This fort was built by Christopher de roda and later reinforced by Francisco de Murga. In 1714 a heavy storm destroys part of the wall, left standing protected by a simple provisional lurch convents. Herrera and Sotomayor reinforces this curtain in 1725, protecting the bastions wooden boxes, which ensure the works and get away from the foot of the sea wall of Cartagena.
