On the last Sunday of each month, (beginning Sunday, February 23), with the exception of January and December, natives of Cartagena and Colombians will enjoy their fortified heritage completely free, including the Castillo de San Felipe.
The 'Free Entry to Fortifications Sunday' program, invites all citizens of Colombia to visit the Castle of San Felipe and the Forts of Bocachica, which seeks to strengthen the appropriation and sense of belonging to the heritage of La Heroica. There will also be various cultural activities for the whole family.
The day is organized by the Cartagena de Indias Workshop School (ETCAR) and the Ministry of Culture, with support from the Mayor's Office of Cartagena de Indias. From 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. you can enjoy the attractive cultural offer.
“Cartageneros and Colombians can enjoy their fortified heritage completely free on the last Sunday of each month, as a way to appropriate and value the monuments that speak of our heroic history,” said Claudia Navarro Díaz, director of the Cartagena de Indias Workshop School.
